This App demonstrates a basic Garage Door Opener (GDO) server and an embedded Web App. The Web App communicates with the GDO server (on the same, or different, devices) and implements the full operation of a garage door web service sans the hardware interface to the garage door. If you install this web server on a tablet you should be able to access the GDO server’s Web App using any number of compatible web browsers as long as the devices (phone/tablet/computer – etc.) are using the same local WiFi/Router as the table hosting the GDO server App.
This server will also run on the same phone/tablet with the GDO App Version 2. It is compatible with the GDO App Version 2 (a free version of GDO App Version 2 will appear shortly). This GDO server app will allow pairing of the GDO App Version 2 and demonstrates garage door control signaling over the internet. However, this is only a demonstrator GDO server and does not implement the complete secure encryption model as our production GDO server hardware and App system does.
The full version of this App (soon to be released) also has the ability to utilize a USB host-capable tablet (or other host mode capable Android device like Google TV) to send and receive signals compatible with our GDO hardware interfaces. Using a specially programmed Arduino-based USB device and a garage door interface (check http://www.android-automation.mybigcommerce.com/ for availability) the full version of this app will control and monitor any garage door via WiFi or Internet.
